PROJECT TALON: Elegance and Function

Updated: 7 days ago

As SPARK Marine Projects, we specialise in delivering client-focused design and product development solutions that span the full lifecycle of superyacht tenders and chaseboats. From initial concept to construction support, we aim to create well-balanced vessels that integrate styling, function and operational reality.

Our latest concept design Project TALON demonstrates this approach.

A Falcon-Inspired Limousine Tender

Designed for an 80m+ mothership, Project TALON is a 12-metre limousine tender concept that doubles as a chaseboat. Drawing inspiration from the sleek profile of the peregrine falcon, the design blends aesthetic intent with functional details.

The tapered superstructure takes cues from the falcon’s tail during flight, creating a silhouette that appears streamlined, agile and in motion. Hull and superstructure windows are shaped to reflect the distinctive falcon eye, offering both stylistic cohesion and visibility from within.

Interior Planning

With seating for up to 14 guests and 2 crew, the tender balances form with function to deliver a luxury onboard experience suitable for transfers, short day trips and general guest use.

Guests board via an open aft deck and descend a central staircase flanked by the helm positions, each enclosed in the rear superstructure ‘tail’ for protection from the elements. To port and starboard, a compact galley and day-head with shower provide guest comfort features.

Forward, the main guest cabin includes a spacious seating area with full standing headroom, retractable clear roof panels and panoramic glazing. The effect is bright and airy for all-weather use in varied climates.

From Concept to Delivery

More than just a visual concept, Project TALON reflects SPARK’s belief that successful projects are rooted in a solid foundation of creative thinking, technical understanding and a practical knowledge of construction and crew operation.

Through our structured approach, we work with owners, captains, designers, managers and shipyards to deliver projects that are not only beautiful, but also buildable and fit-for-purpose.

Our design development process includes:

Concept generation: Styling, layout and performance definition, aligned with guest and crew expectations.

Technical validation: Weight and space planning, systems integration, mothership compatibility, regulatory review.

Builder engagement: Specification preparation, supplier sourcing, quote review and commercial support.

Construction support: Quality control, milestone reviews, and alignment with client expectations throughout the build.

With Project TALON, SPARK brings together design creativity and practical execution to create a vessel that’s ready to serve the needs of superyacht owners and their teams.

A Design-Led, Integrated Offering

Concept and design development is a core part of SPARK’s wider value proposition. Our experience covers design, engineering, commercial support and project supervision, allowing us to operate at the intersection of these disciplines.

By understanding the aesthetic, construction and operational considerations from the start, we help clients to avoid missteps and ensure their vessels reflect not just their personal style, but also real-world needs.

Whether supporting clients through a fully bespoke tender build or refining and adapting an existing platform, our goal remains the same: to deliver vessels that are intelligent, elegant and above all, useful.
